Harry Vayo: Home
Welcome to the website of Harry Vayo, hammered dulcimer player and healing musician. My music can set your hands clapping and feet tapping, or envelope you in a soothing, shimmering wash of sound.
Never heard of the hammered dulcimer? If your speakers are turned on you're listening to it now: a lovely Japanese folk tune called "Sakura", from my CD Ashes on the Stream. To listen to more dulcimer music, go to the top of this page and pause "Sakura", then click on the Sound Clips tab: you're in for a treat!
I play music for all sorts of occasions, including:
- healing the sick and comforting the dying (click on Healing tab);
- weddings and civil union ceremonies;
- wakes, funerals, and memorial services;
- house concerts;
- after-dinner entertainment;
- background music for receptions, parties, gallery openings, and other occasions;
- special programs for seniors and children.
Now playing every Friday (well, almost) from 11 AM to noon at Barrels Community Market, 74 Main Street, Waterville Maine. Check it out: quality Maine produce, crafts, & live music! Click on Calendar tab for other dulcimer appearances.
"Today, like every other day, we wake up empty and frightened. Don't open the door to the study and begin reading. Take down a musical instrument. Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground." Rumi
"So Harry, are you working these days or just doing music?" An anonymous relative
